Patricia R. Sylvester: Biography
Director of Multifamily Housing
Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development
As director, Ms. Sylvester oversees a staff of about 60 with responsibility for the Department’s rental housing programs, including the financing of new construction and preservation of apartments for families and seniors using federal low incoming housing tax credits and State and federal loan programs. She also oversees the Department’s rental assistance programs such as RAP and the federal housing choice voucher program. Her unit administers Section 8 properties under contract with HUD. She has been with the Department for almost 12 years having previously served as Director of Single Family Housing, Y2K Team Leader and legislative liaison.
