Dear Nonprofit Housing Provider:
The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is pleased
to announce the availability of operating assistance grants for nonprofit
organizations involved in the development of affordable housing. The operating
assistance grants consist of two separate programs:
-
production grants, which are made available on a first come, first serve basis,
for the production and rehabilitation of limited income housing; and
-
capacity building grants, which are made on a competitive basis, for newly
formed or inexperienced nonprofit organizations to undertake the development of
affordable housing.
The application and information sheet, which contains details on the eligibility
and award criteria, are available electronically by accessing DHCD's website at
www.dhcd.state.md.us. If you are unable to access the materials
through the website, please contact Cathy Maenner at 410-514-7436 or via e-mail
at maenner@dhcd.state.md.us.
Applications will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2005.
Awards are expected to be announced by the end of May. Successful applicants
will be notified by mail and will be required to complete a Grant Agreement.
